Stella Artois

Stella Artois (AB Inbev)
Stella Artois
Leuven, Belgium
5/2/2009, bottle, 5.2 abv

Smell

Very little smell and no skunk, which is unusual for a green bottle import. Ordered this at a new restaurant, so perhaps it was right off the boat.

Appearance

Pale golden yellow, modest head and moderate carbonation.

Taste

Tastes like a regular ol' beer. Nothing spectacular and nothing objectionable. Crisp, clean and easy to drink.

Comments

Not bad, but there is no reason to pay import prices for this beer. Not much different than big American lagers. I have a feeling Belgians export more Stella than they drink.

  1. This is one of the beers available for sampling in the Anheuser-Busch hospitality room. I'm not a Bud fan, but since the plant is just a few blocks away...

Apparently, there is some relationship between them and this beer. I had the same taste observations. Not impressive, but a touch better than regular Bud.
