Pyramid Audacious Apricot

Pyramid Breweries, Inc.
Pyramid Audacious Apricot
Seattle, Washington
8/6/2009, bottle, 5.1 abv

Smell

Smelled like apricots and canned peaches.

Appearance

Somewhat cloudy, yellow orange with a nice head and good carbonation.

Taste

Not surprisingly, the taste is dominated by apricots, but I did not get any wheat beer or ANY beer characteristics after that.

Comments

This tasted pretty good, but it came across more of an apricot beverage than an apricot beer. I would like some more beer flavor to come through. As is the case with most fruit beer, one is enough.

Thanks to Troy for sharing this and the following 4 beers at our family reunion. He learned quickly that beer makes these reunions go better.

  1. I happened to really like this beer. It was light and sweet, without being overly hoppy, as many ales are. I wouldn't want all my beer tasting like fruit, but it's nice to change things up once in awhile.

The pyramid website says that this beer would go well with "Appetizers, salads, and desserts such as pies and pastries." Sounds delightful!

    Nice pick, Troy!
