| Smell | Dark fruit, toffee and maybe some chocolate. | ||||
| Appearance | Very dark, almost black, with mahogany highlights and a nice fluffy, tan head. | ||||
| Taste | Lots of complex flavors, sweet and mysterious, but also some hops for balance. Nice and creamy with good carbonation. It's not something I would want to drink a lot of, but a bottle or two on Christmas Day with family is perfect. | ||||
| Comments | An excellent winter ale and a great gift for a beer guy. I couldn't find it in Maryland, but the daughter's boyfriend found the last 2 bottles in Philadelphia and one wound up in my stocking Christmas morning. I guess he's alright. | ||||
