Murphy's Irish Stout

Murphy Brewery Ireland
Murphy's Irish Stout
Cork, Ireland
5/30/2009, on tap at Frisco Grille, 4.0 abv

Smell

Smell is very light, slightly sweet with whiffs of coffee and chocolate.
Appearance

Deep rich opaque black with nice cascading bubbles forming a 1/2" head...beautiful!

Taste

Smooth and creamy with espresso & cappuccino flavor with a slightly bittersweet chocolate finish. Quite nice, not overpowering at all. Very easy to drink.

Comments

I liked this Irish Dry Stout better than Guinness. It seemed to be less harsh and better balanced. You have to like a beer brewed in a town named Cork.
