Rogue Mocha Porter

Rogue Ales Brewery
Rogue Mocha Porter
Newport, Oregon
6/17/2009, bottle, 5.3 abv

Smell

The smell was somewhat unimpressive. I got some coffee, but no chocolate as the name implies.

Appearance

Deep brown with light only penetrating at the edges, small head that dissipated quickly, but layer of foam lingered until the end.

Taste

Definite nice coffee flavor with a slightly dry, bitter bite. Fairly easy to drink, but I was expecting a little more.

Comments

A cafe mocha is usually made with espresso, steamed milk and chocolate. With a name like Mocha Porter, I was expecting a little more chocolate flavor.
