Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Chico, California
8/12/2009, on tap at Bill Bateman's Bistro, 5.6 abv

Smell

Pretty good aroma of hops, hints of citrus and grapefruit.

Appearance

Clear copper with a small head.

Taste

A great, well balanced mix of sweet and bitter. There is definitely a hint of red grapefruit. Once the upfront taste goes away, the aftertaste surfaces and lingers for quite a while. Very nice.

Comments

I am told the draft version of SNPA is more subdued than the bottled version. I will try it in a bottle, but it's going to be pretty hard to beat it on tap.
