Tecate

Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma (Heineken)
Tecate
Mexico
12/19/2012, bottle, 4.5 abv

Smell

Smell was fairly weak, with some metallic corn coming through.

Appearance

Pale yellow, fizzy with an active, quickly disappearing head.

Taste

The taste started out fairly typical for the style, with mild corn sweetness and almost no bitterness, but as it warmed up slightly, the taste became earthy and dirt like.

Comments

Keep it cold and drink it fast!

According to Wikipedia, and they are never wrong, it was named after the city of Tecate, Baja California, where it was first produced in 1943. Originally brewed by a local company, Tecate was acquired by Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma in 1955.
