Weyerbacher Simcoe Double IPA

Weyerbacher Brewing Company
Weyerbacher Simcoe Double IPA
Easton, Pennsylvania
9/15/2009, bottle, 9.0 abv

Smell

Smells great with lots of piney hops and grapefruit.

Appearance

Slightly murky, orangish brown with a 1/4" off white head.

Taste

The first sip caused my hair to stand up. Sweet grapefruit start with a massive piney, hoppy, bitter finish. Fairly astringent with a big pucker factor.

Comments

After the first sip, my hair relaxed and it became much more drinkable, but this is not a beer that I would buy. This is probably a good one, but DIPAs are not my style.
